Father: Barnabe Algien, born 1836 in Camargo, Mexico to parents Jose Olguin and Apolonia Grado. Died in Avondale, CO in 1906, and buried at B/X Cemetery in Pueblo County, Colorado

Barnabe (Barney) Weaver Algien was born in 1893 in Avondale, Colorado to parents Barnabe Algien and Rebecca Manis.

 

He grew up with eight brothers and sisters in Pueblo, Colorado. He was the youngest of the bunch.

 

On March 21, 1917 in Pueblo, he married Mary Belle Jerome. They decided to move to Rifle, Colorado and came by covered wagon. 

 

Barney and Mary had a son, Benjamin (Bennie) Henry Algien, and a daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Adeline Algien.

 

They later divorced and married other people. Barney married Dorris Campbell and they adopted a daughter, Carolin. 

 

Barney died in 1963 in Rifle, Colorado.
