Richmond, Virginia

Named for the Virgin Queen Elizabeth I, and nicknamed The Old Dominion  State. Virginia is bordered by Maryland to the north; West Virginia and Kentucky to the west; Tennessee and North Carolina to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. 

Virginia's highest peak is Mount Rogers, at 5,729 feet, the 19th highest in the United States. The lowest point is off the Atlantic coast, at sea level.
