Named after William Penn, a Quaker, and nicknamed The Keystone State. Pennsylvania is bordered by Lake Erie and New York to the north; Ohio and West Virginia to the west; New Jersey to the east; and Maryland and Delaware to the south. 

Pennsylvania's highest peak is Mount Davis, at 3,213 feet, the 33rd highest in the United States. The lowest point is the Delaware River, which is at sea level.
