Named from the Missouri tribe, whose name means "town of the large canoes," and nicknamed The Show Me State. Missouri is bordered by Iowa to the north; Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee to the east; Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma to the west and Arkansas to the south.

Missouri's highest peak is Taum Sauk Mountain at 1,772 feet, the 41st highest in the United States. The lowest point is at the Saint Francis River, which is 230 feet above sea level.

NOTE: I HAVE BEEN TO JEFFERSON CITY, SAINT JOSEPH, BRANSON, NEOSHO, AND CARTHAGE.
