Named from the Iroquois word "Kentahten" meaning "land of tomorrow," and nicknamed The Bluegrass State. Kentucky is bordered by Illinois, Indiana and Ohio to the north; Missouri to the west; West Virginia and Virginia to the east and Tennessee to the south.

Kentucky's highest peak is Black Mountain at 4,145 feet, the 27th highest in the United States. The lowest point is along the shore of the Mississippi River, which is 257 feet above sea level.

NOTE: I HAVE BEEN TO FRANKFORT, LEXINGTON AND LOUISVILLE.
